For over 60 years, the Kirkpatrick-Katzell Four-Level Model of Training Evaluation has dominated the evaluation landscape in the workplace learning field. Loved for its simplicity and critiqued for its limitations, the Four Levels has remained our touchstone---with hardly even a dose of healthy competition from other evaluation models. That changed a few months ago with Dr. Will Thalheimer’s introduction of LTEM, a new, research-inspired evaluation model. In this session, Dr. Thalheimer will reflect back on the history of learning evaluation and bring us up-to-date by describing LTEM and its rationale.
