Bay Area/ Boise State Chapter

  • Who can join? Please note that the interested candidate must be a current member to volunteer.

  • How do I volunteer? In the case of volunteering, we will need your name, your interest and how much time you can commit to per week. After the board finish processing your application, You will start your job shadowing assignments immediately.

  • What type of commitment is involved? It is up to you. Given our innovative volunteer model, you can work on as many tasks as you wish, depending on your personal developmental goal and availability. We encourage volunteers to devote the time and effort they promise to fulfill the certain tasks on a timely basis as delegated by the chair.

  • Is it difficult to become a volunteer? Not at all! We are looking to each and every one of our members to share the workload, collaborate and get more actively involved with the chapter.

  • Will I be trained? One of the most effective ways to learn is to engage in intelligent conversation with an expert on a subject. We have deep and broad expertise on our own board in addition to pro-bono connections and expertise at the international level. We will happily offer mentoring and job shadowing to every new volunteer.

  • What are the benefits of volunteering? Volunteering offers members the opportunity to learn by doing, build a network of valuable professional contacts and friendships, and strengthen and influence our chapter.

About Our Volunteer Model

We have put our heads together and have come up with a different volunteer model based on Tasks which basically eliminates the VP role and turns the role into a chair role. In this new model, the Chapter is run by the President, President Elect, Chairpersons and our Honorable Members who have played seminal roles in ISPI and act as advisors to our chapter.

Chairs are responsible for:

  • Recruiting members to do tasks
  • Manage tasks/people
  • Report into Board meeting
  • Find a replacement chair for the following year
In exchange for taking on a Chair Position, the Chapter will pay for a Silver Membership to ISPI International.

Task sample is shown as follows. Click ISPIBABS Book of Tasks.docx to get the whole book of tasks.
