Bold. Mind Blowing. Game Changing.  Ready, Set Mentor!

Great News!  You are invited to the ISPI Speed Mentoring Event at The Performance Improvement Conference on April 13, 2014, from 2:00-5:00 pm.

If you’ve heard of speed dating dozens of people looking for the right match, cycling through fixed three-minute conversations to quickly sort out prospective future romantic interests from potential romantic “duds” you’re on the right track. Now, think rather than meeting a potential future spouse, you are meeting potential mentors and protégées, allies and sources of information to help you make the most of your career.

Who else is invited?  Those performance improvement experts that can help with Analysis, HPT, Instructional Intervention, Measurement & Evaluation, Organizational Design Interventions, Process/Tool Interventions, Research to Practice and more!

How will it work?  A 90-minute Introduction to HPT will be given followed by a brief overview on how the speed mentor process will work.  After the talk, you will be assigned to your potential mentor #1 having 15 minutes to get to know each other and discuss your professional strengths and challenges.  This will happen 3 times prior to the wrap up of the session. Bring your business cards so you can make them available to other participants and mentors.

If you would like to join us for this exciting event, please RSVP to Sue Czeropski at sczeropski@gmail.com indicating:

    • 1.     Yes, I am interested in attending
    • 2.     Yes, I am interested and am bringing another emerging professional to participate (Please include their contact information as well.

Please send your RSVPs to me by March 21st.  If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact me.

My name is Mike Blahnik, and I serve on ISPI’s committee for the Emerging Professional Network along with Stefan Krueger and Randall Hallman.  As a committee, we’ve been tasked with reaching out to emerging professionals (EPs) and recruiting, engaging and retaining HPT newcomers to ISPI as members, event attendees and volunteers.

We have a couple projects which we’re excited to promote, and we need your help in targeting this specific group.  The first is an online reading group that will bring EPs together online to meet and discuss essential performance improvement literature.  The second project focuses on making THE 2014 Performance Improvement Conference a welcoming experience to first-timers and partnering these attendees with established industry colleagues.

We consider emerging professionals to be students, recent graduates, young professionals, or anyone currently transitioning into a new career related to performance improvement.  Are you in contact with emerging professionals through your local chapter? If yes, we’d love your help connecting with them. We’re suggesting a couple of things:

If you consider yourself an Emerging Professional and are looking to get more involved at the International level, please let us know. We invite you and any applicable chapter colleagues you might know to contact us. You can reach each of the committee members at the addresses below.
